Parton died in Nashville on August 25, 2026. Her family announced her death, and a small private service for immediate family is planned. A cause of death was not immediately disclosed.

From a Tennessee Cabin to Worldwide Fame
Born January 19, 1946, in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, Dolly was one of 12 children raised in a poor family. Music was part of her childhood, and she began writing songs at a remarkably young age.
