Hyatt Hotel Proposal Could Bring New Investment to Saint John’s East Side
Saint John is one step closer to welcoming its first Hyatt-branded hotel.
The city’s Planning Advisory Committee has unanimously approved a rezoning application that would allow the construction of a five-storey, 121-room Hyatt Studios hotel on Loch Lomond Road. If the project receives final approval from Common Council, it will become the first Hyatt hotel in Saint John.
The proposed hotel is planned for property at 615–631 Loch Lomond Road, near McAllister Place and close to several major employers. Hyatt Studios is designed as an extended-stay hotel, making it an attractive option for business travellers, contractors, healthcare workers, and visitors staying in the region for longer periods.
The development represents more than just another hotel—it signals growing confidence in Saint John’s economy. The project is expected to create construction jobs, permanent hospitality positions, and generate additional business for nearby restaurants, retailers, and local attractions.
As tourism continues to grow and industrial activity remains strong, demand for quality accommodations has increased. A globally recognized brand like Hyatt could help attract new visitors while strengthening Saint John’s reputation as a destination for both business and leisure travel.
While the project still requires final approval from Saint John Common Council, the Planning Advisory Committee’s decision marks a significant milestone.
