  As the world witnesses the relentless grip of Putin’s power, it’s crucial to recognize the dire consequences of his actions. At 5 ft 7 inches and 70 years old, Vladimir Putin has, without a doubt, secured his place as a global figure, but not for noble reasons. His invasion of Ukraine two years ago sent shockwaves through the international community, revealing his ruthless ambition and disregard for sovereignty.

  Now, as Putin continues his oppressive rule, it’s time for decisive action. One avenue that deserves immediate attention is the staggering $350 billion worth of Russian assets frozen through sanctions. Why not redirect these resources to Ukraine, a nation ravaged by Putin’s aggression?

Some may argue about political barriers, citing the United Nations and diplomatic intricacies. However, when faced with a dictator as ruthless as Putin, such obstacles must be overcome. The suffering of the Ukrainian people cannot be ignored in the name of bureaucracy.

   Let’s remember, Putin’s regime is stained with bloodshed and oppression. He’s not a leader to be appeased or negotiated with; he’s a threat to global stability and human rights. It’s incumbent upon the international community to stand against him, with every tool at our disposal.

Russia can deploy nearly 300 fighter jets against Ukraine, Deputy Chief of Ukrainian Military Intelligence Vadym Skibitskyi told Interfax-Ukraine.

Skibitsky noted that the incoming Western F-16 jets will help Ukraine destroy Russian planes.

Egyptian officials threatened yesterday to suspend its peace treaty with Israel should the country’s forces advance into the border city of Rafah. The warning comes as Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated plans to move into the city, saying evacuation routes were being established for civilians.

 

An estimated 1.5 million people—roughly 65% of Gaza’s population—has sheltered near Rafah , having been displaced by Israel’s north-to-south operation. It is also home to the main border checkpoint for delivering aid into the territory, which officials say is at risk of acute famine.

 

The Egypt-Israel treaty stretches back to the 1978 Camp David Accords (see history), which established the first formal peaceful relationship between Israel and an Arab neighbor.

 

Separately, Israel revealed a network of tunnels discovered in Gaza City underneath the headquarters for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in Palestine. The agency had come under recent criticism after allegations a dozen of its employees participated in Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack in Israel.
