Jays Sweep Mariners in Impressive Fashion
The Toronto Blue Jays are heading into September with some renewed momentum after completing a three-game sweep of the Seattle Mariners.
Toronto finished its six-game homestand with a 4–2 record and improved to 68–70 on the season. The Jays remain fourth in the American League East and are 1.5 games behind the final American League Wild Card position.
🔥 Scherzer Turns Back the Clock
Veteran right-hander Max Scherzer delivered one of his best performances of the season Sunday, striking out 10 Mariners over seven innings while allowing just one hit and one walk.
The performance also moved Scherzer into ninth place on Major League Baseball’s all-time strikeout list, with 3,535 career strikeouts.
💥 Offense Comes Through
Alejandro Kirk went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, while Kazuma Okamoto added a solo home run — his team-leading 28th homer of the season.
Toronto won Sunday’s game 7–0, completing the sweep and winning the season series against Seattle 4–2.
The Jays also won Saturday’s game 4–3 after coming back from a three-run deficit. Kirk delivered the go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning.

🏥 Injury Watch
Pitching remains a major concern. Shane Bieber was placed on the 15-day injured list with right teres major inflammation after making 11 starts this season.
The club is also working players back through rehabilitation assignments, including Jameson Taillon and Joe Mantiply. Anthony Santander continues his rehabilitation and could potentially return before the end of the season.
There was also a roster change Monday, with Toronto optioning right-hander C.J. Van Eyk to Triple-A Buffalo.
