It’s going to cost you a bit less for fuel this week in New Brunswick.
For those heating their homes with furnace oil, the price has dropped by 4.7 cents a litre to a maximum of around $1.60.
Maximum diesel prices went down by 1.3 cents a litre to $1.97.
For regular self-serve gas, it decreased 2.2 cents to around $1.66.

In the AFC Divisional Round against the Houston Texans, a critical roughing the passer penalty was called on Texans’ edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. after what appeared to be a clean hit on Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes. This penalty extended a Chiefs’ drive that might have otherwise ended, leading to criticism from players and fans. Texans’ head coach DeMeco Ryans commented, “We knew going into this game that it was us versus everybody… And I mean everybody.”

On the morning of January 29, 2025, Saint John police responded to a 911 call at a residence on Skaling Court in the Millidgeville neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers forced entry into the home and discovered two deceased male youths, aged 10 and 17. A 46-year-old man was also found inside with life-threatening injuries; he was transported to the hospital and remains in police custody. Authorities have stated that the accused was known to the victims and that there are no further concerns for public safety. The investigation is ongoing, with multiple units, including the Major Crime Unit and the Family Protection Unit, involved in the case.
