Confirmed: The City of Saint John’s latest notices include several traffic-related items issued September 18. The most immediate is the Germain Street closure beginning today.

Roads and Traffic
Confirmed: Northbound Germain Street is closed to through traffic between Princess Street and Grannan Street beginning today for three days, 24 hours a day. Businesses remain open. Motorists should follow posted detours and watch for pedestrians and workers.
Confirmed: The Department of Transportation has scheduled traffic disruptions on the Saint John Harbour Bridge today. Drivers should allow additional travel time.

Confirmed: Irving Oil’s $235-million Operation Osprey turnaround at the Saint John refinery is underway. The 75-day project involves approximately 2,100 additional skilled workers from more than 55 contracting companies and includes infrastructure replacements, equipment upgrades and work on the refinery’s residual fluid catalytic cracking unit.

Confirmed: The September cruise schedule shows Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas continuing its Saint John call through this morning, with departure scheduled for approximately 7:30 p.m. The port’s September schedule remains particularly busy, with another cruise call scheduled for Wednesday.
