Canada deserved better today.
Outshooting, outworking, and outclassing the U.S. for long stretches of the Olympic gold medal game — and somehow walking away without the result to match. Credit where it’s due, but the American goaltender stood on their head and then some. Call it skill, call it momentum… call it very, very lucky.
Time after time, Canada generated high-danger chances, only to be denied by desperation saves, posts, and bounces that seemed magnetically drawn away from the net. Meanwhile, the U.S. capitalized on the few opportunities they had.
That’s the cruelty of championship games. One hot goalie can flip the entire script.
Proud of Team Canada’s effort. Sometimes you dominate the game — and still lose to a goalie playing the game of their life. 🇨🇦
