The liquor store in Uptown Saint John that reduced its operating hours is the NBLCC location on Wellinton Row
According to local reports, the decision followed a fatal incident that occurred near the store. In response, ANBL temporarily shortened the store’s hours while staff and management assessed safety concerns and supported employees affected by the event. Police investigated the incident, and there was no indication that the liquor store itself was involved.
At this time, ANBL has indicated that the reduced hours are intended to help ensure staff safety and allow for operational adjustments following the tragedy. Local officials and business groups continue to monitor public safety issues in the Uptown area.
10 Wellington Row now closes at 7 p.m., two hours earlier than before.
Officers arrived just before 8 p.m., and found an unconscious 46-year old male and a conscious 44-year-old male.
