Arrests in Commercial Break and Enter – Crown Street

The Saint John Police have arrested 3 youths in connection with a commercial break and enter on Crown Street.

It is reported that:

On Monday, August 19, 2024, at approximately 8:55 a.m., officers responded to report of a break and enter at a business in the 70-block of Crown Street.

On arrival, police discovered that the business had been broken into and a quantity of Canadian currency had allegedly been stolen.

As a result of an investigation done by members of the Saint John Police Patrol Services Division 3 youths were identified and taken into custody in relation to this incident.

The youths are held in custody and scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

The Saint John Police continue to request the public’s assistance in the on-going search for a missing person, 27-year-old Curtis William Thorne.

Just over three years ago, on August 6, 2021, Curtis Thorne was reportedly last seen in the Michael Crescent area.

The Saint John Police have been investigating numerous tips from the public, but Curtis Thorne has not been located.

Thorne is described as 5’7”, 179 lbs, short brown hair, blue eyes and a beard. He has a pair of distinctive tattoos. One on his inner arm that reads “More Life” and another along his knuckles that reads “Die Alone.”

   It’s rare to meet someone whose passion and dedication have shaped a community for over half a century. David Galbraith is one such individual, who has spent the past 50 years as a cornerstone of the pipe band world. From his beginnings as a young drummer, David’s journey has taken him to competitions all over the world, and his influence as a drum instructor has inspired countless musicians along the way.

   David’s love for drumming began at a young age, and it wasn’t long before he found his place in a pipe band. Over the years, his skill and dedication led him to compete on some of the most prestigious stages in the world, from local contests to international championships. His achievements as a competitor are impressive, but it’s his commitment to sharing his knowledge that truly sets him apart.

   As a drum instructor, David has worked with students of all ages, instilling in them not only the technical skills needed to excel but also the passion and discipline that are at the heart of pipe band drumming. Many of his students have gone on to win titles and accolades of their own, a testament to his exceptional teaching ability.

   But beyond the competitions and the accolades, what truly defines David Galbraith is his unwavering love for the music and the community it creates. Whether leading a band onto the field or guiding a young drummer through their first roll, David’s influence has been profound.
