Search continues for missing 48-year-old man

The search continues for a 48-year-old man from the Kennebecasis Valley area missing for nearly three months.

David Mitchell was last seen in Whites Mountain on Sept. 9 and was reported missing two weeks later, according to RCMP.

Police are now treating his disappearance as suspicious and are investigating to determine if criminality was involved.

Supporters held a protest outside the Hampton RCMP detachment over the weekend to bring attention to the case.

“Police are looking for any new details about his disappearance, even if they seem small,” RCMP said in a news release on Nov. 14.

“It is important to report anything that may help further the investigation directly to police and not speculate or share information on social media platforms. This information could help locate him.”

Mounties are asking anyone with information to contact Sussex RCMP at 506-433-7700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The Saint John Police is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Nathan POMEROY who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.    

It is reported that: 

On November 19, 2024, a warrant was issued for breaching the conditions of his statutory release.  

POMEROY is described as 5’8, 195lbs, brown hair, and brown eyes.  

Nathan POMEROY is a 44-year-old serving a 2-year, 7-day sentence for convictions of; Assault, Failure to Attend Court, Failure to Comply with Probation Order (X14), Obstruct Public/Peace Officer, Offence Under Motor Vehicle Act – N.B., Theft Over $5000, and Theft Under $5000 (x14).

The Saint John Police continue to request the public’s assistance in the on-going search for a missing person, 27-year-old Curtis William Thorne.

Just over three years ago, on August 6, 2021, Curtis Thorne was reportedly last seen in the Michael Crescent area.

The Saint John Police have been investigating numerous tips from the public, but Curtis Thorne has not been located.

Thorne is described as 5’7”, 179 lbs, short brown hair, blue eyes and a beard. He has a pair of distinctive tattoos. One on his inner arm that reads “More Life” and another along his knuckles that reads “Die Alone.”
