The Saint John Police Major Crime Unit are seeking information, witnesses, and video footage in connection with a robbery that occurred on Lake Drive

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at approximately 3:00 p.m., officers responded to reports of a robbery involving two suspects.

It is alleged that:

-A 36-year-old woman was driving in Haymarket Square when she was struck by another vehicle. The vehicle was described as a white sedan. It followed her as she pulled into a parking lot

-One man and one woman got out of the vehicle and approached the victim’s vehicle. Both were described as being in their forties.

-There was a struggle and the woman’s purse was stolen.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has video footage or surveillance of the incident at the time it occurred.

The Saint John Police have arrested a 38-year-old man following a residential break and enter.

It is reported that:

On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at approximately 10:19 p.m., police responded to a report of a man breaking into a residence in the 100-block of Douglas Avenue.

It was alleged that the suspect had made attempts to forcefully gain access to the residence. Police responded and located a 38-year-old man near the back of the residence. He was taken into custody without further incident. A member of the Saint John Police K9 Unit was on scene and did a search of the area. The canines’ keen sense of smell led them to discovering further evidence in relation to the incident.

The accused was released on an undertaking to appear in court on August 08, 2024.

Two arrests made in an assault involving chemical irritant

The Saint John Police have arrested two youths in relation to an assault that involved a chemical irritant.

It is reported that:

On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Saint John Police responded to an alleged assault that took place in the 500-block of Westmorland Road.

Police arrived on scene and located a 19-year-old man that was contaminated with a chemical irritant. He was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at scene and released.

Additional officers searched the area and subsequently arrested two youths in a nearby neighbourhood.

A 16-year-old youth was released on an undertaking to appear in court on July 24, 2024.

A 15-year-old youth was charged with breach of a court order. He was held and scheduled to appear in court on April 17, 2024.
