Baltimore’s Iconic Francis Scott Key Bridge Destroyed by Ship Collision 🚨

BREAKING NEWS: Baltimore’s Iconic Francis Scott Key Bridge Destroyed by Ship Collision 🚨

In a shocking turn of events, the serene skyline of Baltimore has been rocked by the destruction of the historic Francis Scott Key Bridge. The bustling city, known for its rich history and vibrant communities, now finds itself reeling from the aftermath of a catastrophic collision.

Reports indicate that the bridge, a vital artery connecting the city’s eastern and western shores, was struck by a massive cargo ship registered in Singapore. The vessel, ominously named the “Deli,” was piloted by a local crew as it navigated through the waters surrounding the Chesapeake Bay.

Eyewitnesses recount scenes of chaos and disbelief as the towering structure, which stood as a symbol of resilience and unity for decades, crumbled before their eyes. The impact of the collision was so severe that it left the once majestic four-lane bridge in ruins, casting a shadow over the city’s skyline.

Authorities are scrambling to assess the extent of the damage and ensure the safety of residents and commuters who relied on the bridge for their daily travels. Traffic jams have snarled the streets as alternative routes are hastily arranged to accommodate the disrupted flow of vehicles.

As the dust settles and investigations into the incident begin, questions loom over how such a catastrophic event could have occurred. Concerns are raised about the safety protocols in place for maritime navigation in the area and the competency of the crew entrusted with piloting the vessel.

Meanwhile, residents of Baltimore are left grappling with the loss of a beloved landmark and the inconvenience of navigating their city without one of its most crucial thoroughfares. The Francis Scott Key Bridge may have fallen, but the spirit of resilience that defines Baltimoreans will undoubtedly guide them through this challenging time as they work towards rebuilding and restoring what was lost.

Scam targeting Saint John photographers

Saint John police are warning about an overpayment scam after a local photographer fell victim.

Police said the photographer was contacted by the fraudster via email in early February.

The scammer, who claimed to live out of province, wanted to book the woman’s services for an upcoming birthday party in Saint John.

“The fraudster sent a cheque for considerably more than the cost of the photography services asking the victim to send the remaining funds to the fraudster’s son who was paying for other arrangements for the birthday party,” said a news release from police.

Investigators said the victim deposited the cheque into her account and e-transferred the remaining funds to the email address provided for the fraudster’s son.

But the cheque was later returned by the bank and the victim’s account was debited the full amount, leaving her responsible for several thousands of dollars.

“It is alleged that attempts have been made to defraud other local photographers as well,” said police.

Police said this type of scam is commonly known as an overpayment scam, where someone pays more for a service or product and asks the victim to wire the balance before the cheque bounces.
